04/30/2026

From April 21 to 23, at the 6th Smart Laser Processing Conference (SLPC2026) held at Pacifico Yokohama (Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan), Ms. Ke Jiang, a second-year master's student in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Course, received the SLPC2026 Outstanding Poster Award.

The title of the awarded presentation is “Feasibility Demonstration of Adhesive Removal on Glass via Pulse-Controlled CO2 Laser”. This research focuses on a technique for the clean removal of adhesives using a laser without causing carbonization and without damaging the substrate. It is expected to contribute to the assembly of precision components as well as to the disassembly and reuse (recycling) of various industrial products, including home appliances and information devices.

Ms. Jiang is a student in a double degree program between our university and Hangzhou Dianzi University (China), and is supervised by Associate Professor Kazuyuki Uno and Associate Professor Changlun Hou.

Ms. Jiang commented, “I am deeply honored to receive the Outstanding Poster Award at SLPC2026. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my supervisors, Associate Professor Uno and Associate Professor Hou, for their invaluable guidance and support. This award motivates me to continue working hard on my research to contribute to the field of laser processing.”

This research was supported by the Amada Foundation. We would like to express our sincere gratitude.
