\nThe paper tile is \u201cAccelerated biodegradation of pyrene and benzo[a]pyrene in Phragmites australis rhizosphere by bacteria-root exudate interaction, Water Research (2011), 45, 1629-1638.The paper is first to clarify the mechanisms of accelerated pyrene and benzo[a]pyrene removal in the P.australis rhizosphere sediment. Oxygen and organic compounds from the P. australis roots can accelerate biodegradation by rhizosphere bacteria. The paper shows that rhizoremediation of pyrene-and benzo[a]pyrene-contaminated sediments using P. australis can be an effective strategy.<\/p>\n
