In this study, pH-responsive polymer micelles were fabricated for the delivery of photosensitizers with poor water solubility, and new insights were obtained into their molecular design and mechanism of action. This finding can contribute to the application of poorly water-soluble photosensitizers, which have been difficult to apply to phototherapy until now, to photomedicine. Prof. Obata commented, \"Photomedicine is a typical medical-engineering integration where medicine and engineering technologies, such as laser technology and sensitizer development, are strongly linked.
