Dr. Shintaro Ueno, an associate professor of Department of Applied Chemistry received an Excellent Award at the 37th Electronics Division Meeting of the Ceramics Society of Japan (12 – 13 October 2017).

His group developed the novel low-temperature process to prepare composite ceramic capacitors consisting of base metal grains and insulated grain boundary layers (usually called as barrier layer capacitors in this research field), and they also reported the recent progress in metal / insulator composite capacitors with fine grains exhibiting excellent dielectric properties.
